The “Little West” Windmill Tank

This simple little scene was from photos I took as I was leaving the Tongue River Ranch this spring. It was mid morning and I had been photographing some mares and colts in the “Little West” pasture. When I pulled over the hill the light was so pretty on the old concrete tank that I decided to snap a few of it and I’m glad I did. I found out after the piece was complete that this tank has been a favorite swimming hole for some of the kids that have grown up there!

The drawing is done with colored pencils on Grafix drafting film layer over a tan BFK Rives drawing paper.
