This limited edition was an original colored pencil on sanded paper featuring my husband’s mare,“Rhonda Jo Leo”, bridled with a Mike Gillespie dog bone shank snaffle.
“Rhonda” is wonderful American Quarter Horse that my husband shows in limited cowhorse and ranch riding. Here it was winter and she had lost her slick show coat and had a little more character like the ranch horses that I usually feature!
The bit, which is marked number 24, is beautifully made by Mike Gillespie of Stevensville, Texas. I feel fortunate to have it in my collection, as Mr. Gillespie is not currently producing new pieces.
